It is now 11 years since the International Global Citizens Award started. In considering how we can take the programme forward, and how best to support centres in their work with students engaged in the programme, it is important to have a clear idea of how it is now operating on the ground.

We know that centres in 16 countries have reported that well over 3,000 young people have received awards, at bronze, silver or gold levels. Some terrific work is going on in centres, and award recipients'€™ accounts of their experience of the programme are both inspiring and moving. But inevitably in some centres the Award has not survived the departure of a key teacher, or has been displaced by other initiatives.

I am therefore writing to you personally and directly to ask if you could please let me know the position in your school.
