International Global Citizen's Award

encouraging young people to become better global citizens

Recording and reflecting and making awards

Attached as a file, are all collated responses received by 13 May, on the set of questions about how students are recording and reflecting during the programme, and the process schools are using to decide who receives awards.

Lots of interesting ideas coming through which all can benefit from, including:

• Providing students with a folder / journal for them to record evidence of their participation, and their reflections.
• Holding regular meetings with participants in which they complete their record folders
• Setting up a record sheet for activities on Excel (Excel file attached)
• Focusing on evidence of “mind shift” of participants
• Establishing a committee of parents, students and staff who oversee the Award programme, and decide who should receive the award
• Participants making a presentation to fellow participants and staff (the “award group”) which will reach a consensus on who receives the award.

Comments / reactions / suggestions welcome.
