International Global Citizen's Award
encouraging young people to become better global citizens
WWF – the World Wide Fund for Nature – is one of the Award charities, and over the years donations of over STG 400 have been made through the Award to this charity.
The Award recently received a supporters’ update from WWF-UK on some of the successes in its work.
These include:
Working to get 10.3million hectares of Canadian forest certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) http://www.wwf.org.uk/what_we_do/safeguarding_the_natural_world/forests/responsible_forestry_and_trade
Lobbying for preservation of two of the rarest dolphin species – Mexico’s Vaquita porpoise and New Zealand’s Maui’s dolphin

Stopping logging in a major forest in Hungary
Replanting tens of thousands of trees in Tanzania
Restoring Himalayan habitat for snow leopards and red pandas, while improving living conditions for local people

Training border officers in China to combat the illegal trade in marine turtles
It is encouraging to get some good news of how our donations can really make a difference on the ground.
